Well well well lads...we are a couple of weeks in and it's been one hell of a roller coaster to start the season!
Did anyone see Huddersfield winning their first two? Anyone claim Burnley to win at Chelsea? No?
Anyone see Arsenal's defence be all over the place and Spurs bottle it at Wembley? Yeah ok we saw those coming too!
The championship had been a very interesting start, Wolves and Cardiff flying out the traps and then meeting each other. Neil Warnock working miracles and Wolves big signings showing real quality, what a start!! An even bigger surprise however has been Ipswich who have 3 wins from 3 after being tipped as relegation candidates! Somebody Call Marcus Stewart, the premier league may be on the cards for the tractor boys!
Over to Man United...that's a great start! Two games, two wins, 8 scored and none against! A new attacking Mourinho? A goodbye to the sleepy days of Van Gaal? Possibly, but let's remember its two games, against two teams I fully expect to be in the bottom 7/8 come May. Yes it's impressive but let's all calm down a little bit for now.
Over to the betting side of things...tonight we've hit two much needed high stakes winners after a pretty frustrating weekend...BTTS at City and goals in Holland doing the business!
The latest £25-£500 challenge was annoying after sailing through rounds 1-4 making £135 in the process. The one game that screamed overs on Sunday was Lazio...nope...0-0, unbelievable scenes and bet down the drain at round 5...that's two challenges we've reached round 5 though so we are on the right track and it's not far away!
Talking of frustrating we move over to Holland...first Friday of Dutch Jupiler, it'd have been rude to ignore the full over 2.5 bet...we got on it at 90/1...27 goals needed over 9 games, how many did we get? You guessed it...26...a 0-2 game denying us of the 90/1 and £910...Holland...we will return, and we will beat you!!
We've had plenty to shout about so far though...the 11/1, 23/10 and 27/20 bought in some nice profit on a Europa league Thursday! Last Sunday also bought 3 wins from 4 with over £100 recovered and the Carabao cup made very tidy profit when the goals started flying in...11/1, 3/1 and 2/1 winners that night too!! Let's hope they are as goal crazy in the next round starting tonight.
Along the way it's been steady profit over the first couple of weeks of the season so we hope you've been following us and cashing in! Tonight brings the Carabao cup...a crazy competition with what they've done to it but one that generally brings goals and profit, as it did for us in the last round, so get on board!
Thats all for now...good luck for the rest of this week, don't forget to follow @lightfoottips and @brynthomastips...let's bring on the goals tomorrow...Be Seeing You!!
It's finally here...is it just me or has this summer felt like a massive drag? No World Cup, No Euros...all we've been left with is half arsed Asian competitions and the Emirates cup, it just doesn't cut it does it. Although the Arsenal goal against Benfica did land £50. We've cashed in here and there on the Swedish and Swiss leagues but there is nothing like the real football coming back is there! The leagues that bring you back here to ride the journey and get back to making profit on a weekly basis.
The Championship is the first to arrive, along with our old favourite the French Ligue 2, where we have made huge profit over a number of years! It's all a good warm up to the Premier league starting next week and then Europe's Elite tagging along shortly after.
On the subject of Europe's elite...is Neymar really worth £520,000 a week? Commanding a transfer fee of £220,000,000...Arsene Wenger said we weren't far off the £200,000,000 footballer, well he wasn't wrong. But Neymar? Did we see this coming? Swapping playing with Messi and Suarez to the now inevitable title win with PSG? Especially now Monaco have lost half their winning side, it seems to make life ever so easy and smacks of just taking the money doesn't it?! Yes PSG came second last season but with Monaco losing half their first team, does it really need £220,000,000 spent on it to make it right?
Lets switch to England...Liverpool and Spurs strike me first...nothing really added to last seasons teams is a worry with champions league games to throw in the mix. Especially with Spurs playing at a ground we all know bring skeletons and Liverpool with the threat of losing Coutinho. Media focus on Arsenal as not showing ambition, however they have added Lacazette and Kolasinac to last seasons team, plus it seems Ozil and Sanchez might not actually be going anywhere. It's a tight run thing between those 3 clubs.
On to the three clubs who are clearly once again throwing money at it in an attempt to win the league! I've always said the same...there is absolutely no skill in identifying the best players and then throwing money at them...that's what I used to do on football manager, only I wasn't earning £5,000,000 a year to do so. Mourinho and Guardiola are doing just that...as if they're in a battle to see who can pay the most ridiculous fee for a player. Guardiola is just in the lead with £50M on Kyle Walker!! Antonio Conte is spending big but to a lesser extent having won the league and recognising the need to strengthen again in order to stay ahead of the Manchester clubs.
I've heard shouts of fraud for Mourinho and Pep...perhaps it's true...spend lots of money and if it works then they look like the hero, if it loses then move on, spectacularly in the case of Jose who blames everyone around him in the process.
Anyway...we are here to talk about betting aren't we! The championship starts tomorrow and we will have our first tips of the season to share with you...Forest have had a good pre season and start with newly promoted Millwall where as Sunderland face Derby who both have a point to prove in this division and will be hoping to make an early statement.
Elsewhere, France and Austria are two weeks in and looking to line our pockets...so get on board and don't miss out!! Be seeing you!!
